Our Story
Beloved Youth Services (BYS) was founded with the mission of addressing the unique challenges faced by youth impacted by trauma, foster care, and systemic inequality. At BYS, our primary focus is the youth we serve. We are deeply committed to empowering these young individuals, providing them with the resources, guidance, and support they need to heal, grow, and thrive.
We understand that youth who have experienced trauma often face significant barriers to success, including emotional distress, lack of stable support systems, and limited access to opportunities. BYS was established to break these cycles of hardship and provide a safe, supportive environment where young people can begin to rebuild their lives and reach their full potential.
An essential component of our work is the dedicated support provided by direct care workers. These individuals are on the front lines, building meaningful, supportive relationships with the youth we serve. Direct care workers have the most consistent interactions with youth, and their work plays a key role in shaping outcomes. Unfortunately, the vital contributions of direct care workers are often overlooked, as they are typically overworked, underpaid, and excluded from key decisions within the system.
At BYS, we are committed to revolutionizing the way direct care workers are treated and valued. We aim to attract and retain high-quality staff by offering above-market pay, creating an environment that fosters recognition, and ensuring that our team feels appreciated for the emotional and professional skills they bring to their work. By empowering our direct care workers, we believe they will be better equipped to provide the consistent, trauma-informed care that youth need to heal and succeed.
Our agency’s success depends on the collaborative effort between the youth we serve and the dedicated professionals who support them. BYS strives to create an environment where youth feel safe, seen, and supported while ensuring that the professionals who work with them are valued and equipped to do their best work. Together, we can break the cycle of trauma and give youth the tools they need to create a brighter future.
